Reasonable design and cost reduction 1

Last time, I talked about "Process 2: Kumamoto's House 2-Developing Image-".

Sanshi-no-Mori Apartment: Night view (from the park side)

This time, we will talk about how to reduce construction and construction costs by designing rationally.

What do you think when you ask an architect to design?

It seems to make a fashionable design.

I want you to create a cool house.

I want you to create a functional and solid architecture.

The cost is likely to be high.

I think there are various ideas.

When designing, we are thinking of creating an architecture that meets the needs of the owner with our original concept and original technology.

I am thinking of designing rationally.

There are various factors in construction costs, but the cost of structures and skeletons is the highest.

It is the most important element of architecture, and it takes time and materials.

Although it depends on the building and structure, about 1/3 of the total construction cost will be spent on the structure / frame.

It is possible to rationally design the structure / frame.
It is a top priority for cost control.

This time, we will talk about structures and earthquakes.

Japan is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world.

When building, I think that everyone wants a building that is strong against earthquakes.

Think "What is an earthquake?"

An earthquake shakes the ground and applies vibration and force to the building.

This ground sways due to a "seismic wave" called a "swaying wave".

This "seismic wave" is structurally and physically "acceleration is generated".

An earthquake is a wave, but for the sake of simplicity, we think that the acceleration a is applied to a building with a weight of m.

The force F applied to the building is F = ma according to the equation of motion.

Therefore, "the heavier the weight m of the building, the larger the seismic force F".

Therefore, in order to improve the seismic resistance, it is important to make the building sturdy and to reduce the seismic force.

There are three main types of buildings: reinforced concrete, steel frames, and wooden structures.

Understand the characteristics of each structure well
It is important to design the structure slim.

The slim structure is lighter in weight and therefore more earthquake resistant.

Designing a quake-resistant building with a sturdy, slim structure is a rational design and a significant cost reduction.
